In June 1989, Sri Chinmoy gave a short talk on the importance and universal longing for peace. This short talk on peace was given during a section of the Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run which was then visiting UNESCO Headquarters in Paris.

The initiative was part of a European tour that also involved concerts in the Zenith Hall in Paris and at the Royal Albert Hall, London.
